1teaspoonlemon zest
2/3cupmini chocolate chipsplus more for garnish
Instructions
Using a stand mixer or hand held mixer on medium speed beat cream cheese and ricotta cheese until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar 1/4 cup at a time until fully mixed it.
Turn mixer to low. Mix in almond extract and lemon zest.
Remove from mixer and fold in chocolate chips. If desired sprinkle the top with more chocolate chips.
Notes
If you like ricotta cheese than you will more than likely love this dip. However if you don't like the texture of ricotta than this dip is probably not for you.
Use only whole milk Ricotta Cheese for this recipe. The lower milk fat ricotta cheeses are not thick enough and the dip will be too soupy.
You can substitute a little orange zest, nutmeg or cinnamon in place of the lemon zest. They are each delicious albeit slightly different.
For a change of pace use vanilla extract in place of the almond extract.
Don't add anymore almond extract without tasting first. A little almond extract goes a long long way.
Cover and refrigerate the dip if not serving right away. Store leftovers in airtight container in the fridge.
