Ingredients
1frozen banana
½cupvanilla yogurt
½cuppumpkin puree
⅔cupmilksee notes
½teaspooncinnamon
1pinchginger
1pinchnutmeg
¼teaspoonvanilla extract
2tablespoonsmaple syrup
Instructions
Add the frozen banana, vanilla yogurt, pumpkin puree, milk, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup to a blender.
Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If desired top with whipped cream and a dusting of ground cinnamon.
Notes
You can freeze banana whole with or without the peel on. The peel with turn black in the freezer but it will not hurt the taste or texture of the inner flesh.
Use canned or fresh pumpkin puree.
This is a great way to use leftover bananas that will be tossed in the trash because they are overripe. Just freeze them and use them in smoothies.
You can substitute any sweetened or unsweetened milk in this recipe including non-dairy milk like oat milk, cashew milk, soy milk, coconut milk, and almond milk.
Adjust the seasoning to taste.
For extra protein add a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
Use either plain Greek yogurt or plain traditional yogurt.
If the smoothie is too thick for your liking add a little more liquid. If it is too thin add a little more frozen banana or ice cubes.
