Ingredients
1frozen banana
½cupvanilla yogurt
½cuppumpkin puree
⅔cupmilksee notes
½teaspooncinnamon
1pinchginger
1pinchnutmeg
¼teaspoonvanilla extract
2tablespoonsmaple syrup
Instructions
Add the frozen banana, vanilla yogurt, pumpkin puree, milk, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup to a blender.
Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If desired top with whipped cream and a dusting of ground cinnamon.
Notes
You can freeze the banana whole with or without the peel on. The peel will turn black in the freezer, but it will not hurt the taste or texture of the inner flesh.
This is a great way to use leftover bananas that will be tossed in the trash because they are overripe. Just freeze them and use them in smoothies.
Adjust the seasoning to taste.
If the smoothie is too thick for your liking, add a little more liquid. If it is too thin, add more frozen banana or ice cubes.
