Ranch Crack Dip Recipe

Always a huge hit, this easy dip recipe is loaded with sharp cheddar cheese, bacon, green onions, and ranch seasoning.  It is delicious on crackers, potato chips, pretzel crisps, Fritos, carrot sticks, celery sticks, or bell pepper wedges.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 ounce package ranch dressing mix
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 green onions thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 6 slices crispy cooked bacon chopped or ½ cup bacon bits
  • Assorted chips crackers, carrot sticks, celery stickers, and bell pepper wedges.

Instructions

  • Set aside 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar, chopped bacon, and green onions.
  • Add the cream cheese, sour cream, ranch dressing, shredded cheddar, green onions, and ground black pepper to a medium mixing bowl. Stir in the chopped bacon. Beat the mixture with a handheld electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  • Spoon into a serving bowl and garnish with the cheddar, bacon, and green onions that are set aside.
  • For best results, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Notes

  • For ease in making the dip creamy bring the cream cheese to room temperature.
  • Real bacon bits can be substituted for the crisp chopped bacon.
  • Slice the green onions thin with a sharp knife. It is fine to use both green and white parts of the green onion.
  • This dip is also delicious served warm. Just spread it in a small baking dish and heat in a 400-degree oven for about 20 minutes. Garnish with green onions and bacon bits.
  • Serve with crackers, potato chips, pretzel crisps, Fritos, carrot sticks, celery sticks, or bell pepper wedges.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days
