Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 large banana mashed
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8×8-inch metal pan. Line the pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, sift the flour, salt, baking soda, and baking cocoa and set it aside.
  • Beat the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas with a handheld electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment on medium-low for 1 minute. Using the mixer on low, slowly whisk in the butter.
  • Stir in the cocoa mixture using a spoon. The batter will be thick.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips. Spread the brownie batter in the prepared pan using an offset spatula.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs and a few streaks of wet batter.

Notes

  • Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
  • Freeze in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
