Hi there! My name is Beth Pierce, but you may know me as Small Town Woman.
I live in a small town about fifty miles outside of St. Louis, Missouri. My family started with my high school sweetheart, Wayne, and me. About twenty years ago, we decided to leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind and move where the deer and turkeys roam. While we still live in a subdivision, we’re surrounded by beautiful mature trees and the nature, which makes it feel like our own peaceful retreat. My husband and I have two beautiful children and a rascally beagle (whom I like to refer to as a rodent). We all absolutely love living out here, and I believe it has been the perfect place to raise my family.
Today, my daughter and son, Lilly and John, work with me to continue building Small Town Woman. They assist with creating recipes and managing the business. It feels incredibly rewarding that my cooking, which had started as a personal hobby, has evolved into a family endeavor.
My love of cooking began as a kid when my mom taught me how to make brownies, cookies, cakes, and candy. As my family grew, I developed a desire to cook wholesome meals. In 2013, I decided I wanted to start sharing some of my delicious recipes with others! It started as a side hobby, but eventually led me to begin Small Town Woman. It has been my delight to serve food to my family and friends, and now to all of you!
One of my inspirations for cooking is my preference for using whole foods whenever possible and avoiding over-processed, store-bought, or boxed shortcuts that are usually loaded with ingredients you can’t pronounce. Sometimes it means there are extra steps in my recipes, but I firmly believe in eating whole, natural foods straight from nature.
