Cast Iron Skillet Pizza

We love this easy cast-iron skillet pizza made with store-bought, ready-to-go pizza dough, your favorite jarred pizza sauce, Parmesan, mozzarella, and all your favorite pizza toppings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 2 ounces pepperoni
  • ½ green pepper, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Lightly grease or oil a 10 or 12-inch cast-iron skillet.
  • Pat out the pizza dough in the cast-iron skillet. Poke it well with a table fork. See the picture above.
  • Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, sprinkle with oregano, and top with the Parmesan and 1½ cups of mozzarella cheese. Top with pepperoni, green pepper, and onion. Top with the remaining cheese.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. 
  • Reheat in the microwave at 50% power for short increments until warm.
