We love this easy cast-iron skillet pizza made with store-bought, ready-to-go pizza dough, your favorite jarred pizza sauce, Parmesan, mozzarella, and all your favorite pizza toppings. The cast-iron skillet is ideal for those who love a thick and crispy crust.

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
See the complete list of ingredients on the recipe card below.
- Pizza dough: Grocery stores and bakeries sell ready-made pizza dough. You can also use premade refrigerated pizza crust or make a homemade crust.
- Pizza sauce: We love Rao’s, but you can use your favorite brand.
- Parmesan cheese: Freshly grated is always best.
- Dried oregano: You can substitute dried Italian seasoning.
- Mozzarella: Low-moisture whole milk mozzarella is best for pizza.
- Toppings: Pepperoni, pork sausage, bacon, mushrooms, bell peppers, or onions. Or whatever your heart desires.
How To Make Cast Iron Skillet Pizza
This is a summary version; for the complete list of ingredients and instructions, please refer to the recipe card below.
- Pat out the pizza dough in the cast-iron skillet. Dock the pizza with a fork.
- Spread the pizza sauce, sprinkle with oregano, and top with Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
- Add your favorite toppings and a light sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Preparation Tips
- Let the pizza dough rest at room temperature for 2-4 hours. Brush olive oil in a glass or ceramic bowl. Add the pizza dough and cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and let it sit at room temperature for a while. This makes the dough easier to work with by letting the gluten relax.
- After patting out the pizza dough, poke it well with a table fork. This process is known as docking.
- Precook any bacon or sausage before adding it to the pizza.
- Use a 10 or 12-inch cast-iron skillet brushed lightly with olive oil.

Serving Suggestions
I love serving this pizza with Italian salad with homemade Italian dressing, tomato salad, or garden salad. Other great choices are minestrone, sausage tortellini soup, or roasted red pepper soup.
