Instructions
Mash the avocados, lime juice, and lime zest with a potato masher or fork.
Add the red onion, garlic, jalapeno, cilantro, and, if desired, tomato. Stir to comebine. Season it with salt and pepper to taste.
Notes
Wait until you have cut veggies and chopped cilantro before you cut your avocadoes, as they brown quickly. If you forget, brush the exposed flesh with lime juice.
When working with jalapenos, wear gloves and do not touch your face. Wash up thoroughly after finishing.
Tomatoes are optional in this recipe. If you use tomato, choose a meaty tomato like Roma tomatoes or part of a beefsteak tomato.
