Ingredients

  • 2 lbs frozen crinkle fries
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • ¾ cup water
  • 16 ounces yellow American cheese (deli style)
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 small tomatoes, finely diced
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 small jalapeno, thinly sliced
  • sour cream

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. About halfway through the browning process, add the chopped onion. Cook until the onions are soft and the beef is browned.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer until thickened.
  • Meanwhile, spread the fries in a single layer on the baking sheet and bake until crispy.
  • Combine the cheese and milk in a microwavable bowl. Microwave at 50% power for 2-minute intervals, whisking between each interval, until melted and smooth.
  • Assemble the nacho fries. Divide the fries evenly among plates. Top with the seasoned beef, cheese sauce, tomatoes, green onions, jalapenos, and sour cream.

Notes

  • These nacho fries are best served and eaten promptly.
  • If you must save leftovers, store them separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat the fries in the oven at 400 for 5-6 minutes or bake fresh from frozen. Reheat the seasoned beef and the cheese sauce in the microwave at 50% power for 1-minute intervals until warm. Assemble the nachos.
