Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • cup raspberry jam
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole or 2% milk
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 pinches nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 slices Texas toast
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • raspberries optional
  • whipped cream optional
  • powdered sugar optional
  • warm maple syrup optional

Instructions

  • Using a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or a handheld mixer on medium speed, beat the cream cheese, raspberry jam, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Whisk the eggs, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract in a wide shallow bowl.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture over four slices of Texas toast and top each with a slice of the bread.
  • Carefully, dip both sides of the bread in the egg mixture.
  • Melt 1 tablespoon butter and heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add the French toast and cook until browned on both sides. Serve with fresh raspberries, whipped cream, and warm maple syrup.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. 
  • Reheat in a covered skillet over low heat or in the microwave at reduced power for short intervals until warmed.
