This Green Goddess Dressing is so creamy and bursting with flavor from garlic and fresh herbs like parsley, dill, and chives. Enjoy it on your favorite salad or as a dip for veggies.

What Is Green Goddess Dressing?
It is an American salad dressing made with a creamy base of mayonnaise, sour cream, or Greek yogurt, and fresh herbs such as parsley, dill, chives, tarragon, basil, mint, and cilantro. Use this dressing on your favorite garden salad, as a sandwich spread, as a dip for chips and veggies, or as a drizzle for grilled meats and seafood.
Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
See the complete list of ingredients on the recipe card below.
- Mayonnaise: I love Duke’s mayo, but you can use your favorite brand.
- Sour cream: Use full-fat sour cream for the best flavor and texture.
- Anchovy paste: It can be found at the grocery store in the same aisle as other canned fish, such as tuna and sardines. Once opened, store it in the refrigerator, and it will last about 3 months.
- Fresh herbs: Such as parsley, dill, chives, and tarragon. Use basil, mint, and cilantro as secondary herbs.
- Lemon juice: Use freshly squeezed.
