Air Fryer Chicken Wings could not be any easier. They are crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. They are perfect for movie night, cocktail parties, neighborhood shindigs, and game day.

These Air fryer Chicken Wings are a friend- and family-favorite, but if you are cooking for a group, you will have to plan and cook in batches. You can start ahead of the party and keep the wings in a large pan in the oven on warm. We make Cajun, lemon pepper, and honey barbecue. We like them all, but our favorite is the Cajun.
I am sure you have seen these egg-shaped counter appliances at one of the warehouse stores. They are essentially compact convection ovens that rapidly blow hot air onto food to cook it. Because air fryers have smaller chambers and higher-speed air circulation, they work faster than traditional convection ovens. Compared with deep-fried food, air-fried food has fewer calories and less fat.

We love chicken wings and fix them at least once a month. I don’t have an air fryer but I think I need one after reading your post.

question if its an air fryer then why do you need to turn the chicken half way through because the air fryer is supposed to cook all sides at the same time? I have an air fryer oven and i do not turn mine and they come out nice and crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.
Beth Pierce
Interesting. I have always read and understood to flip foods over halfway through the cooking time. Just as you would if you were cooking on a grill or in a skillet, you need to turn foods over so that they brown evenly.

Scott, you say you have an air fryer oven. The advantage to the oven is that there is more room for the air to circulate under the food. Thus, it can get crispier quicker. With the basket type air fryer, which I have, the food sits very close to the bottom of the fryer. You need to turn the food over about halfway through so that the bottoms can get just as crispy as the tops. Definitely one of the advantages, along with being larger, that you have with the oven style air fryer.

We just got an air fryer/toaster oven and I can’t wait to try these! And truthfully I haven’t been a big fan of wings but these look so good!
Beth Pierce
Thanks Abbe! These are scrumptious! I think you will love them!

I’ve heard so much about air fryers, so much healthier to fry foods and boy do those wings look good.
Beth Pierce
Thanks so much. Yes air fryers are a lot healthier than frying in oil but keep in mind that they do not cook battered food well.

I barter chicken wings in flour with added seasoning then egg wash and finally Panko bread crumbs. I spay both sides of the wings with olive oil nonstick cooking sparky. I cook them for 20 minutes shaking the basket every 4 minutes. They turn out so crispy and moist.

Thanks for the heads up! Sounds delicious!!

I had no idea you could make chicken wings in the air fryer. Guess I know what I’m making tonight.
