These tasty bombs are so quick and easy to make. You can whip them up anytime.
Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
See the complete list of ingredients on the recipe card below.
- Grand biscuits: I use Pillsbury Southern Homestyle. You can also use crescent roll dough or pizza dough.
- Pizza sauce: We love Rao’s pizza sauce. Use your favorite brand or make homemade.
- Pepperoni: Cut the pepperoni in half or use mini pepperoni. We like the all-natural pepperoni.
- Mozzarella: I use whole-milk mozzarella because it melts much better than skim-milk mozzarella.
- Butter: Unsalted or salted butter.
- Parmesan: For optimal flavor, use freshly grated Parmesan Cheese.
How To Make Pizza Bombs
This is a summary version; for the complete list of ingredients and instructions, please refer to the recipe card below.
In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Separate the biscuit dough and press or roll out the dough to ⅛ inch thick. Spread a tablespoon of sauce over the dough. Top with three small cubes of mozzarella and several slices of halved pepperoni.

Bring the edges of the dough circle up to close and pinch to seal. Place them seam-side down on the parchment-covered baking sheet, then brush them with the butter mixture. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown and melted.

Preparation Tips
- You can pat out the biscuits or roll them out. If you roll them out, please do so gently from the center out.
- Seal the bombs as best you can. There is a little room for error.
- To substitute crescent rolls, use a standard muffin pan and place a crescent roll in each muffin slot. Add the cheese and pepperoni, then fold into a ball. Brush with the butter mixture.
- To substitute for pizza dough, divide 1 lb of pizza dough into 12 equal portions. Pat or roll the dough out into a circle. I really recommend patting pizza dough out to keep its light, airy texture. Add the pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni. Bring up the edges and seal. Bake as instructed until golden brown. You may need extra pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni for a pound of pizza dough.
