How to Make Strawberry Mimosas
This is the summary version; see the recipe card below for the complete list of ingredients and the instructions.
Place the frozen strawberries, sugar, and about one cup of champagne, prosecco, brut, or sparkling wine in the blender or food processor. Blend on high for a couple of minutes. Pour the strawberry mixture into the champagne glass about halfway full.
Then, fill the glass with chilled champagne, dry prosecco, brut, or sparkling wine. Give the mimosa a gentle, short stir, and top the glass with a fresh strawberry, orange slices, or a sprig of mint.
Why I Use Frozen Strawberries
I have found that frozen strawberries are usually sweeter than their fresh counterparts. They are flash-frozen at their peak, making them the perfect berry for these. Besides being delicious, you have your own frozen strawberry ice to keep the mimosa chilled.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, you sure can. You will not have a somewhat frosty frozen drink, but if you chill your champagne well, you will have a delicious mimosa.
The star of the show in a mimosa is the fruit. However, you will still taste the champagne, so use a champagne that would be appreciated on its own. A good cava or prosecco is always a flavorful choice that blends well with fruit.

Strawberry Mimosas Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups frozen strawberries
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 bottle chilled champagne prosecco, brut, cava, or sparkling wine
- Fresh whole strawberries for garnish
Instructions
- Place frozen strawberries, sugar, and 1 cup of champagne in a blender. Turn on high and blend for 1-2 minutes. If it is too thick to blend, add 1/4 cup more champagne.
- Fill the champagne flute halfway with the strawberry mixture. Fill the rest of the glass with chilled champagne. Garnish with a strawberry with a slice down the middle but not all the way through so it will sit neatly on the glass.
Notes
- Makes 6 champagne cocktails.
- To keep the champagne from bubbling too much, hold the glass at a 45-degree angle while pouring.
- If you would like to premix a pitcher of mimosas, do so just as your guest arrive, so you do not lose much carbonation from the champagne.

We had these for Mother’s Day brunch and they were a huge hit, and so easy 🙂
Have you ever tried making blueberry mimosas the same way? Substituting frozen blueberries for the strawberries?
Beth Pierce
No I have not. You might need to run the blueberries through a fine mesh strainer after pureeing them.
Patty
Can you make theses ahead of time and keep in freezer?
Beth Pierce
Unfortunately not because the champagne would go flat.

Switch champagne to a sparkling pink moscato and voila!
