This incredible Strawberry Salsa combines fresh berries, sweet red bell pepper, red onion, and jalapeno in a little sweetened lime juice. Enjoy this sweet spring and summer treat with chips, tacos, grilled fish, or meats.

Ingredient Notes and Substitutions
See the complete list of ingredients on the recipe card below.
- Strawberries: Fresh, red, ripe strawberries are the way to go here. Frozen strawberries will produce too much moisture.
- Bell pepper: I love the sweetness of the red bell pepper, but you can use any colored bell pepper.
- Onion: Again, I love the sweet notes of the red onion, but you can use any sweet onion.
- Jalapeno: Look for jalapenos that are smooth and green all over. They should be free of striations. Stay away from peppers with white lines and flecks, as these peppers are older and hotter.
- Cilantro: Use fresh cilantro, not dried.
Skip The Food Processor
Skip the food processor and chop the ingredients finely with a sharp knife. Toss all the ingredients together. Season with freshly ground black pepper and lightly salt. Chill for a couple of hours so all the flavors meld.

Perfect Pairings
This sweet and savory salsa complements so many main courses. Here are a few suggestions!
- Casseroles: Spoon it on chile relleno casserole or chicken taco casserole.
- Tacos: Add it to ground turkey tacos, salmon tacos, or chicken crockpot tacos.
- Fish: Spoon it over blackened mahi mahi or lemon pepper baked cod.
- Grilled meats: Serve with grilled chicken or grilled skirt steak.

I used cinnamon pita chips for dipping with this, and it was a great blend of sweet and savory across the board.
