How do you make BLT Dip?
This easy BLT dip is best made on a plate with a little bit of depth. This allows for the cream cheese mixture to be spread out thin so you get a little bit with each dip. You could also use a pie plate or a small shallow dip platter.
Using a mixer to blend the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, onion powder and garlic powder until smooth and creamy. Using a spatula, spread the mixture on the plate. Top with the chopped romaine, diced tomatoes and crispy bacon. Serve with crostini, bagel chips, crackers or vegetables.
This homemade BTL Dip is best served with crostini.
By far my favorite accompaniment to this dip is crostini. I was first exposed to crostini when I was a young teenager. My beautiful stepmother would serve these delicious toasted bread crisps with her cheese-balls and soft cheeses. You should try one with baked Brie. I found out from her in a secret double pinkie swear conversation in the kitchen that she purchased them from a local high end grocery store. I still occasionally purchase them from this store but more times than not I make them homemade in my little small town kitchen.
How do you make homemade crostini?
A little advance planning is needed for crostini. You will need a couple of day-old baguettes. Slice the baguettes a little more than one quarter inch thick. Lightly brush both sides of he bread with olive oil. Sprinkle lightly with salt and garlic powder. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned. Flip the crostini halfway through the baking process.
