Chocolate Pudding

5 from 11 reviews

This rich and velvety smooth kid friendly chocolate pudding comes together quickly right on your stovetop in less than twenty minutes.

  1. In large saucepan sift together brown sugar, cornstarch, salt and cocoa.
  2. Whisk in the milk until combined.  Turn heat to medium/medium low and continue whisking and stirring. Whisking for a nice smooth lump free pudding.  Stirring to keep anything from burning or scalding on the inside bottom corners of the saucepan.
  3. Bring to a simmer and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until thickened.  Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla.
  4. Continue stirring every couple of minutes until cooled to prevent a skin from forming.  Serve warm or chilled.  Before chilling lay a piece of plastic wrap right on the top of the pudding.  This helps keep the pudding from forming a skin.
  5. Store leftovers in the fridge in an airtight container.
