Quick and easy Yogurt Parfaits are filled with layers of creamy vanilla yogurt, crunchy granola, and fresh berries. I like to use strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries for these tasty treats, but you can use any fresh fruit or pie filling. Enjoy these fruit parfaits for a delicious breakfast, snack, or dessert.
How to make Yogurt Parfaits
First, wash all your berries and dry them or drain the water off of them. Slice the strawberries in half or quarters. Add a little bit of yogurt to each glass. Then top with a few assorted berries, followed by a few heaping tablespoons of granola.
Top with more yogurt, granola, a spoonful of yogurt, and a few more assorted berries. Make these up to 3 days in advance and cover each glass tightly with plastic wrap. Keep in mind that the granola is going to lose its crunchiness a little more each day.
Helpful Recipe Tips
- You can prepare these in short glasses, small mason jars, or bowls.
- Use any assortment of fresh berries, fresh fruit, or pie filling. See below for more ideas.
- For optimal flavor. choose organic granola with minimally processed ingredients and sweeteners. Look for whole grains like rolled oats and barley flakes and sweeteners like honey or maple syrup.
- I like to use vanilla Greek Yogurt for extra protein, but you can use unsweetened plain yogurt and add honey to taste and one teaspoon of pure vanilla extract.
- Store the parfaits in the fridge, covered tightly with plastic wrap for up to 3 days but keep in mind that crunchy granola parfaits are best enjoyed sooner rather than later.
Recipe Variations
- Fresh Fruit – Besides strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries, try bananas, pineapple, mango, peaches, mandarin oranges, apples, and pears.
- Toppings – For texture, try chopped nuts like pecans, almonds, or walnuts, toasted coconut, raisins, dried cranberries, dried cherries, mini chocolate chips, or chia seeds.
- Pie fillings – Cherry, apple, blueberry, key lime, lemon curd, or strawberry rhubarb
